Do different world religions unite or divide?

I have catholic priests friends who live in Pakistan and other countries which are predominantly muslim. They always talk positively of the local inhabitants. My friends said that they do find co-operation from the natives even if they belong to a different religion.
Do you think that different world religions unite or divide?

Different religions can unite or divide people. In India there are 14 main religion and about 15 tribal religion. Still the country is united and everyone lives in harmony.
But lots of countries have been divided on religious lines. Thus depends on people and the country.
Different religions can bring both divide and unity.
