Coal puts too much carbon in the air, it increases green house gases, it's shockingly filthy. Nuclear power is much cleaner. We have many wind turbines here in Califonia, but they are only a drop in the bucket. Nuclear power can create hydrogen also for powering cars in the furure. The US has not built a nuclear power plant in over twenty years. We need to begin building soon. This also would prevent the mid-east from using their oil in a threating way, possibly getting them to be more resourceful in ways other than oil. Solar energy only works in sunny climates and only when the weather permits, plus it is just not enough. Hydro power is great, but only so many rivers around. This will help stop global warming, dependency on oil and is inexpensive. There is a book called "The Case for Nuclear Power", his predictions are very true. "Naturally Dangerous" is another book. There is no free lunch, over zealous environmentalists have preventing us from using nuclear power... a shame and a sham really.
