dhoni as an opener.....

i don't think dhoni have the ability to open, he is like a player who can handle the middle order & can increase the run rate per over.

well a bad idea dhoni is not able to face fast owlers he is sucesful with spinners.

naaaaaaaa..dhoni as opener ..it wont at all be write..he in the middle order its fine..4 hitting.. to pick up the score..the top order we r having its enough..if they play coorectly

i think he has all the qualitie to open the batting line up for india but lets wait and see what is going to happen

yes he can open in one dayers n give india a blast at the start , he holds the record for highest runs in a one day by wicketkeeper..

ur thought is correct is very right that india should need a blasting start.as we all know that a good solid start can easily turn decide a match.but dhoni should be kept in his position.because indian bottm-middle order need a guy like dhoni.as dhoni can handle pressure very well.he comes at a time when india need a good batsman who can play sensibly when need and turn the accelerator on when need.with out him in the middle order our top order would come under pressure.and dhoni is used to playing in the middle order.it will take time to adjust to being an opener .as there is a very short time period before the world cup.so no change should be doneto his position.

dhoni is very poor player of moving ball yes if the wicket is flat and an asolute batting paradise then dhoni can be used as opener to disrupt the oppositions plans

man the idea is good but i dont think its a long time option.u hve to take into count the stress it would put on him as he hs to keep wickets for more than three hrs.. still,i do think that if any0ne other than gilchrist can do it,it hs to b dhoni still,we cant experiment like this just before the world cup
