I have lots of blackheads on my nose and they have been there for several years. I don't know how to get rid of them. They interfere with my wearing makeup. How do I get rid of them? would a facial help? Do I need to see a dermatologist? Is there a home remedy that will help?

How to get rid of blackheads? Step 1 - Cleanse the face thoroughly with a good cleanser meant for oily skin. Preferrably use a salicylic acid cleanser. Step 2 - Apply an astringent. It helps reduce oiliness. If its a bit harsh mix a bit of rose water in it.

There's a blackhead remover vacuum for sale, it's effective and painless. I'm not sure if it's available anywhere but i'm sure it is in the US.

You can try that Proactiv stuff or buy the apricot scrub stuff from st.ives, I use that and it works great.

Hi there. I posted the same question a few months ago myself and I will just share what worked for me. Step 1 : Wash my face clean first and preferably with warm water to open the pores. Step 2 : Use Bicarbonate of soda(about a teaspoon) and gently rub it onto the face especially on areas where there are lots of blackheads. Step 3 : Wash face again thoroughly with cool water. Step 4 : Dry face and apply toner to refine and close pores. This worked for me and I try to do it at least 2 - 3 times a week. Hope it works for you too especially if you can't go to the salon to have it done or to save some money.

Hi there. I posted this discussion earlier and one response I got sounds real practical and it's cheap. Use a hot towel to cover your face to open pores, or you can use a steamer (please be careful with the hot towel, test it first in case it is too hot), after that, you use the blackhead remover instrument or your clean fingers to squeeze it out gently - don't force it though in case your skin gets inflammed. For the stubborn ones, mix some oatmeal with honey and some water to form a masking paste and then apply it to those areas which has blackheads. Leave it on about 10 to 15 mins and wash it off. Lastly, use cold water or toner to close the pores. Another suggestion given to me is to use Elmer's glue. I have not used it but maybe you have and can give it a try. Hope this will help you some. Good day.
