Yes you read it right. Before all this wonderfull thing of internet banking once a month you had to go to the post office to pay your bills. Well me just 17 and living on my own went to the post office saturay morning. I was there at 12:00 knowing that they closed at one. Took my number and waited nicely until it was my turn. There were really alot of people in the post office I can't remember how many numbers I was away from getting to the counter but I do know that it was just about my turn when the clock on the wall showed one oclock. To my and everyone elses who was in the post office surprize a teller can around and said it was closing time so we had to leave. What leave they couldn't do this to us we were there and waiting in line way beafore closing time. They could lock the doors and finsh up with the people they had let in the post office. We were alot of people that complained. Well one they wouldn't listen to reason I got mad, so I knocked over a postcard stand, and told them that once we were in the building they had to let os pa our bills. They called the police on me. The police came and lead me out of the post office trying to keep a straight face while explaning to me that I couldn't behave that way in the post office. But I and everone else in the post office got to pay our bills and they were actully fined for throughing people out that had been in the building before closing time. My mom thanks god that my only (knock on wood) incounter with the police was over something so funny.

OMG they should of closed the doors and finished everyone who was waiting in line but no one else was allowed to get into line that is how most businesses do it.

That was a very shabby way to treat customers. If it was me, I wouldn't have just knocked over a postcard stand, I would have leapt over the counter and trottled them. I am glad to hear that the police had a sense of humour and you got to pay your bills.

It is really sad that they were trying to throw you out of the post office even though you had legitimate business in there and you had been in there before closing time. I'm glad that you were able to pay your bills after all and that everything is okay. Sorry that the police got called in. Thanks for sharing your story! ^_^
