How many people are in myLot for fun, or is it just greed?

Fun or money? There are so many references to making money on myLot that I think this is a question worth asking. Fascinated as I am by people being lazy in their answers, can we have something a bit deeper this time?

i think most of the people on mylot are just to earn money rather than taking part in discussions.

Hm. It varies a lot. As you can see from Misskatonic's posts, some of us are a bit wary of the "too simple" stuff. Others seem to do nothing else.

For what you earn on this website I do not believe you earn enough if all you do is respond to discusions with one or two word sentences. I always search what are the best discussions and take time to answer them. I have been a member for just over 3 weeks and already I see how many members view this site, which is ashame as there could be so many questions asked that actually extend our way of thinking!!

Yes to all that. It's a waste of a useful concept. Every day I come here, I find something interesting, and some quite unexpected responses. Some of the really articulate people are actually doing a lot of useful work, and helping other people.

Yeah, I'm with MissKat. I'm generally bored during the day, so I do love the discussions, and getting paid never hurts. You can find some deep ones here and there, but most end up in bickering and name-calling.

Yeah, somebody (sorry, whoever you are) came up with a discussion "Where do we draw the line" about that.

For me... I will admit when I first got here it was for money. But I got sick and tired of answering posts asking me what kind of pop that I liked, and what kind of dog I have, and what my initials are. So that led me to just start responding to discussion where I actually have some sort of substance behind them. Although bascially ever time I find a topic that I like, misskatonic steals what I was going to say... damn her!

You'd think there was some limit to how banal it's possible to be, but I haven't seen it yet. Steals it before you say it, eh? Clairvoyance is alive and well, and living on myLot.

I'm here for both. I love having conversations and I love voicing my opinions and views. And if I can get paid for it, all the better. I don't skimp on my answers and I don't respond to anything unless I have something to say. I wish more people did the same, but most people just want the money.

Thank you. I think it's a lot of fun, and that it detracts from the whole thing to do the simple stuff.
