What really makes your blood boil?

This day and age i notice a lot more people getting totally stressed over various situations that once never got a mention... People that think they are minuplating you or lie to your face really make my blood boil and seeing domestics happen in shopping centres, years ago i would never let it get the better of me, but society is changing drastically , where are all the manners, foul language you never heard in the streets back then are now common words... people seem to be prepared to bring out there dirty linen in public rather than at home.So what makes your blood boil and why do you think it affects you more now then what it probably would have years ago? whats do you beleive has changed??

my blood really goes up to the highest level when i meet people who do not know how to apologize. like when for instance, in a mall and someone bumped on me and just passes me by as if nothing happened. or if a friend already knows he/she did something wrong but does not have the will to ask for forgiveness. i hate it when people can't just put down their pride and say sorry if necessary. and yes, it still affects me until now since more and more people are developing this attitude.

The people who mistreat children. From the lady who leaves her toddler in the car during the summer tot he video I saw of a mom punching her 7 y/o in the face, these things really make my mad. I have trouble keeping quiet over such incidents and I usually don't. It is particularly sickening when it is the parents of the children who are doing this. If you don't want children, then get spayed or neutered - and yes, those terms do apply to these people. As far as what has changed, I think it is the fact that more people are becoming self-centered and our society promotes that. The 80's were considered the "me" decade in the US and I really don't think the feelings ever left for most people. It is becoming harder and harder to find parents who absolutely put their children first. Just check out how many people are involved in their children's school. PTO,PTA or accountability committees ussually have only a handful of parents, - and the same ones. Sports are still supported, but they are the exception to a disturbing trend that I think is much different than 15 -20 years ago.

Absolutely true, here in australia its the same...my daughters friends parents let their kids rule the roost , they are totally direspectfull..but trust me when they are here i keep them on their toes, but yes it is getting hard to find the parents that do put the kids first...im also thinking that work life is a lot to blame...having to make more dollars to keep a roof over and feed and clothe us all...really splits the family...but no one can be blamed except the governement... 20 years ago "family" always came first. We didnt have the abuse that happens with the children of today..its quite sad...

If someone messes up with my thing I really get mad. And also whenever I get jealous. I also get mad with people who are late and those who cannot commit to their promise.

It affects me more now because it IS happening more. It's like everyone is at their breaking point and are quick to lash out at someone. I was thinking the other day how EVERYONE honks their horn for who knows what. I remember when honking your horn was to alert someone of possible danger. Now, people use it as a way to say 'screw you'. Many people don't use their blinkers, how lazy is that? I was taking a leasurly drive through the park one morning to take in the beauty; doing the speed limit of 25. Some lady must have been using the park to cut through to go to work and was very upset that I wasn't doing, say, 50. Pulled up beside and started screaming, I pulled over to let her pass but secretly hoped she'd get a ticket along the way. I've checked out of stores where cashiers don't acknowledge you with a simple 'Hi', nor thank you at the end of the transaction. People that can simplfy their lives should, and those that can't should learn some coping skills.

I am normally a very calm person. However, about the only thing that comes close to making my blood boil is when I make a "great" response here in myLot and the poster either doesn't comment on my response and stops responding before he/she gets to mine. Other than that I am as calm as a bug in a rug.

What really makes my blood boil is how I keep on hearing about parents who abuse their kids and even kill them it really makes me mad to know that there are parents out there that can make a child and actually hurt and even kill their own flesh and blood.when i was younger i never heard of such of a thing happening but now that is all i hear about.maybe its becasue I am a mom so that is why it bothers me so much i just don't understand it.

But people does not yell without a reason. Do they??? If you give them a chance to yell at you then whose fault is this?
• Australia
10 Jan 07
That is true, for someone to yell at you, there must be a reason.... unfortunately i think that people do not know how to communicate anymore in a cival manner...

Life is much faster paced, there's no time for thinking and stopping to smell the roses. You need to talk more, you can feel powerless so your blood boils

It makes my blood boil when people don't practice what they preach, or when they don't take something into consideration. People tell me to respect the office of President. Wait just a minute. Saddam Hussein and Adolph Hitler and Joseph Stalin all held similar offices to George Bush, and Stephen Harper (Canada). No way!! I don't respect offices, I respect people, and if people do evil things, I don't respec them. Those same people who told me to respect offices will tell me that "Iraq and the USA are different" That wasn't my point, my point is "ofice! Leadership!" Every country has a leader, some good some bad. What's changed? It's gotten worse! People just don't take others into consideration anymore. On the other hand, people are more willing to speak up, so it's half of one and 50% of the other.

True , how can one give respect to someone who does evil things... its true here in oz i think it has got worse, the government really make my blood boil...people dont consider each other anymore..losing the old values i guess

I agree with the things that you said. People who are rude and lie to your face and try to manipulate you really upset me. I would like to see and believe in the best in people, and it is hard when you run into such types. I also am saddened with the way society seems to be slipping further and further downhill this past decade or so. It just seems to me like bad parenting is causing more and more children to have very little respect for anyone or anything. I rejoice when I hear of or meet someone younger who is smart, well educated and polite. It makes my day to know that there are still those kinds of younger people out there. And they are! But you have to look harder than you used to. And I find that sad.

It is sad but its true, being a parent myself and meeting my kids friends parents is quite scary...i often sit dumbfounded...i mean what has society come to???? i believe the parent is responsible for the behaviour of their children, it comes down to self pride and discipline, common things like manners...dont you think ? im glad my girls are the way they are...i never smacked my children they were disciplined verbally in a way they could understand it obviously worked , plus taking things away from them. It really isnt that hard is it ???? i just dont get some parents of today...dont you agree? It really makes my day as well when i meet or see a child that is respectfull and well educated...and uses basic manners. But as i look around i see kids having kids...how can they teach their own kids these things when obviously they havent the knowledge themselves...what ever happened to self respect, self pride? common sense?
