As now adays there are no sufficient rain in the country to grow are plant in some part of the country and if this continues they even indians have to import the vegetables and food from other countries. i think so this is due to the pollution and over population.

there is a long time before india can reach the level of agriculture that is seen in western countries. we still use animals and ploughs... whereas in developed countries, much of the agriculture is automated, using large machines over large pieces of land. in india, the land sizes are probably only one-fiftieth of what it is elsewhere! also, we are not used to the concept of multiple crops, or, if we know it, we do not use it properly. farmers elsewhere grow many crops in the same field in a single year - more production. there is also a possibility of rotating cash crops with food crops - india lags here too! we are mainly dependent upon seaonal rains and very little electricity to irrigate and plough our crops - not a feature producing regular bumper crops in western countries. the use of fertilisers and good genetically engineered seeds also gives a good crop produce, which is not seen regularly in india... both fertilisers, pesticides and seeds are substandard! so it is a long long way for indian agriculture to go before it can reach the level of self sufficiency seen in western countries!
