I find that very annoying and feel it is against the discussion guidelines. It really makes me mad. How can the person be starting a discussion if they are not going to respond.
This is done by several people that have very high ratings...over 8000.
Am I wrong or is this against the guidelines.

I can understand what you are trying to say but I can see why certain people are doing this also. They do read and rate the discussions but don't put a response at times because they are getting flooded with responses and having difficulty keeping up with the responses. I have had some days my self where all I do on here is answer my posts. I don't get any discussions to post in at all. Now I am not complaining about this either but can see where these other posters are coming from. I personally try to answer as well as rate responses. With the new star system you can understand why we do this now. Well mari61960 keep answering. It is still a fun place to be.
Oh by the way, I would have posted in your candy shop discussion but I am in Australia and can't afford the air ticket for some cheap candy haha. I have to buy the expensive stuff and eat it slower....

The candy.. well..lol, yes we can get it easier than you. But it cost alot more than a penny now...lol

I'm almost sure I read somewhere that myLot encourage people to read the replies to their discussions and to respond to them. I think that users should be rewarded for this. I mean......what sort of discussion is it if the original poster doesn't return?

I've seen this too! I think it's wrong. The one person I seen doing it says that "I will be reading and rating only". And that deterred me from responding to any of her posts! I can understand that you may not have time to answer every single response, but you could answer SOME!!! You know? Geesh. I thought it was kind of rude. Oh well, it's her loss, she missed out on one of my great responses, ha ha ha!

Well, at least they are rating! Some original posters of discussions never respond/rate after they post their first discussion topic!

But, I do agree that it's better to respond than to rate. It's not a "discussion" if it's not 2-way. Otherwise it's just like a message board for random comments not a conversation of sorts.

Yes, when people don't go back and at least respond to something in the discussion.. I'ts like posting on a message board. And that's no what I'm here for. I want to discuss. So what if I don't get paid for responding to my responses...Sometimes it needs a response and sometimes it doesn't. I do rate all responses though.
