January 9, 2007 3:10pm CST
News anchor Bob Woodruff will return to ABC in February to tell the story of his recovery after being wounded in Iraq in 2006. The former co-anchor of "World News" will tell the story of his ordeal through interviews with the ABC News team that was with him during the roadside explosion, soldiers with them on the patrol, and the medical teams that treated him, the Daily Variety reported Tuesday. "To Iraq and Back: Bob Woodruff Reports" will air in prime-time on Feb. 27 on ABC. Woodruff will return to the Bethesda Naval Hospital, for the first time since he spent six weeks there, as part of the one-hour special. Woodruff was preparing to do a report just outside of Baghdad when the convoy was attacked by bombers.

I didn't get to see the show last night because we were out. I did see him on the Oprah show though. What a come back he's made, it's amazing what he went through. Some of it was kind of comical when he was relearning the words, well not really funny but, you know what I mean. I wanted to yell out "coffee" it' coffee..lol I'ts a miracle he's even alive.

I watched this last night. I was very touched by the show and have a great deal of respect for Mr. Woodruff after seeing it. I am so glad he brought the story to the light of everyone. More needs to be done for these soldiers with these brain injuries as well as all injured soldiers, those who got sick and those with PTSD. I saw alot of compassion in his reporting. I admire him for how strong he stayed while fighting to regain as much of his life back as possible and going on to speak for the troops. I also admire his wife and family for not giving up hope.
