Okay I want to know...how many people out there love coldplays music but believe that they have just one sound...with small deviations in all their music. I think coldplay must evolve...and tweak their sound if they want to be a great band

Yeah coldplay is awesome but even though the songs are more or less similar it doesn't get boring!

I think i have to disagree with you. THAT unique sound is what makes Coldplay. They are distinguished from the other bands because of this sound. It doesn't necessarily mean that if you got a wide range of sound then you can be a great band. Take Blue October as an example. If you listen to their albums, they have a very wide range of sound. Every song was very dimensional, u can get wide range of sounds for every song, be it rock, electrical, whatsoever. But how about heir achievements in music scene? Do you see them as hell of a great band? I don't very much think so. All you generally know about them is their hit single "Hate Me". So Coldplay maybe needs to evolve. But evolving in a way that they would lose their markable and distinguished sound.

I disagree. I think Coldpaly has a superior sound to them and rate the band as one of my top favorites. I espceially like their album "A Rush of Blood to the Head." I believe that is the sophomore effort and provides much diversity in the tones and lyrics.

I concede, that Coldplay's music does have a great sound. But dont you feel that most of their songs seem to have the same general trend?

To a degree yes, but that is their signature sound I would say, and many other bands and artists have the same general trend. How many bands have you heard that tried to mix up their sound and they literally fall off the charts because of it. Many people do not like change in music. Colplay has made their name with the style they have always portrayed-and in my opinion they are genius for keeping it going....
