I recently entered my first jewellery design competition for a freeform wirework and bead bracelet. It's called "Song of the Siren" and is inspired by the mythical sea nymphs who's enchanting songs lured sailors to their deaths on the rocks. Please send me your thoughts of good luck as the results are announced this Sunday 14th.

It's a competition in the US, so I guess they've woken up now and the staff are going through all the entries. I should know either way somewhen today. Judging by the entries I saw I doubt if i'll win, but it was great to enter and get the creative juices flowing. Will let everyone know when I do! Thanks for your encouragement. Have a great Sunday!

sure, these are pictures of human auras. The Aura is an electro-photonic vibration response of an object to some external excitation (such as an ambient light for example). This is why artists have painted Jesus and other religious figures with a halo - they could see his aura. Here is a Budda for you instead. He also has a halo.

I had my aura photo taken once. It was mostly orange, which I wasn't expecting. There was some green around my heart. Anyway, I love designing jewelry, don't you? I wish you the best with the contest. Just remember there's always another contest around the corner.

Hello Auburndreams - i'd love to have a picture of my aura taken, maybe one day i'll do it - it's on the things to do list! Another jewellery designer, that's cool. Yeah I love to get creative, sometimes I have really bizzare days though when I do the weirdest things & I think OMG no one will buy that - but it's amazing, there's a piece out there for everyone! Thanks for the encouragement! lol Here's a picture of one of my pieces for you!

If that is the bracelet in the picture it definitely deserves the first prize. I remember a scene from the film "Ulysis" about 40 years ago, where Ulysis kept himself tied to the main mast to hear the songs and to be unable to react to the songs. You have chosen a wonderful theme for your design. This shows that you are crative enough.
