MOM!! You forgot to put on the necklace I made for you! We were already in the car on the way to the Christmas pagent when I was reminded about the necklace. It was made of elbow macaroni with the odd wagon wheel shaped pasta , lovingly hand painted red green and white and sprinkled with gold glitter. "oh dear I left it on the dresser" I said. I got out of the car to go put it on. The look of pride on my child's face was worth all the looks of blatant curiosity at the pagent. From then on it was my Christmas necklace for years. I still have it today.

That is so beautiful to share with us. I have never seen or heard of that. What a lovely gift to cherish. You are lucky and blessed.

when I posted this I thought there would be more moms with macaroni necklaces or other treasures. YOU are the only one that has replied. Thanks so much. It was a very special story for me to tell.

I have a macaroni painting done by one of my sons more than 30 years ago. Pieces of macaroni were glued onto a picture of a clown and painted. Many people admire it.

What a beautiful story, I love making and wearing them with my boys and of course I do wear them, even with the drippy paint on my clean best clothes.

No, I don't have a macaroni necklace, but many years ago I did have one with gum nuts and felt gum leaves, and yes, I wore it with pride. I have a display cabinet which covers one wall of my lounge and I have many expensive objects in it, including a Royal Doulton lady and Lilliput Lane cottages. I also have a hand painted bamboo vase, a pottery "piece" a painted and framed tile, and other items made by my sons when they were young. They have often mentioned how odd they look in with the expensive items, but to me they are more precious.

Oh I am so glad that there are other sentimental moms here. I was so disappointed when this post got zero replies. Thank you for sharing your story.:)
