Why do men call it babysitting when they are watching their own kids???

I get so frustrated that my husband as well as many other dads I know call if babysitting when they have to watch their own children. Isn't it called parenting???

Everything that you do to your child is called parenting. But people got used to saying that they are "baby sitting". Even some mothers uses the word "baby sitting" when in fact they are watching their kids as well.. Most says "watching the kids" though... but for men, I feel your rant. But I think that you should just cut them some slacks..men will always be men..
