Is there a preferred age to get married? For me there is really no preferred age well at least your over 18 years old. Does society have its requirement when to marry? Does it have reasons why we have to marry on the age of 20's 30's 40's 50's?

Before I start sounding sexist, I'll mention that I found a Netscape-article (from a long time ago) that said the best ages were 32 for men and 26 for women. I think that's because '32' gives men 10 to 14 years to 'sow their wild oats' and prepare to enjoy boring, go-nowhere life for the rest of their time on this planet; '26' gives women time to discover that they really are useless except for the matronly duties to which we can entrust women-and-only-women.

i guess what you meant by preferred age to get married is tied to society's perceived age of maturity of men and women. that's why older people always say oh don't have a boyfriend yet, you're too young! maturity is also very relative so it's a difficult question to answer. for me though, i would think 26-28 is a good age for women. for men, well 30's i guess. you know how they say women mature faster than men... lol.. just kidding... some men mature faster than women... :)

I agree, that it comes with maturity. It really depends if you can already handle marriage life than it even doesnt matter if your still 22 or 25.

True. The maturity of a person is what is more important than the number itself when deciding to get married. There are people who are old but have the maturity of an 18 year old. The decision to get married is also influenced by the priorities set by the person. Those who want to have a more stable life for their future family would tend to marry at a later age when they are already settled with their careers and has enough money to sustain a better future for their family. While those who really want to raise kids tend to marry at a much younger age. It is easier to have children when you are younger than when you are older. Still, what is important in any marriages is that it is founded by love and the couples will try their best to work hard to make the marriage work.
