ok need some advice on this. I have a great paying job where i presently work at. I am happy there. I like the atmosphere, my coworkers, the pay, and benefits. the advice i need is that i always wanted to be a Correctional officer. when i got out of the marines, my goal was to be a CO but first i wanted to finish school and get my BS in criminalogy. I had to get a job to support me and my wife so i went looking for job. to make a long story short, now im getting older and realize its almost 5 years since i been out of the marines and realize that i have forgotten of my goal. I still want to become a C.O. they make great money, alot more than what i making now, great benefits, retirement.should i try for that and quit the job i currently doing?? so i risk what i have now and try for it, what happen if i dont like it but then i dont want any regrets. what should i do??

thx it just scary i know i wont quit now to become one because the process is long. but the thing if i get there and dont like it, then i would be stuck. the jobs over here where i live dont pay that great. and you cant make it on just one income. what ifs i hate them. lol. i know people who are CO and have family, some like and some i hate it. i heard stories of what the prisoner do mkae you wonder if its worth it. thx for the advice.

yeah that what i was thinking. i have a cousin who is in it. and he loves it. and i also have a friend that used to be it but hated it. he will tell me story what they do and said people got hepatitis b and tb in there. he will tell me if the inmates dont like you, some will get their own bowl and put it on a needle and try to stab you in your neck. so it just makes me wonder should i or not. i will keep you posted. thx for your comment.

i myself, at one point, wanted to be a CO. that was of course pre children. i went thru the process, got called in on a couple of institutes. and actually got hired and did the physical part of the training. it just so happened in the midst of all of that i found out i was pregnant, and couldnt complete my physical training part. i realized after a few months, that everything happens for a reason, and i was removed from that area of occupation. maybe it would have hazardous i dont know. personally, i would stay with my job and look into the CO occupation a little harder. maybe talk to some people who have been in the job for a while. ask as many questions as you can think of. are there opportunities to grow in your career? payraises, how frequent are they? is it really dangerous dealing with the inmates so closely? what about health factors..some inmates have diseases how do they protect the CO's who deal with them one on one, from contracting these diseases? remember its not just you anymore, its you and your family you have to consider. i pray the best decision is the easiest decision for you to make... keep us posted ok/

Well I believe you should follow your dreams but do so smartly. Dont quit your job until you have a solid offer for a CO job. DO the research on your dream and think of the pros and cons about it.If the pros outweigh the cons, then think about it and make a decision on what you want to do. It is a long process and stressful. Just stay firm with what you want and be patient. Nothing worth having is easy. God Bless and best of luck. Hope your dream do come true.+

Well just keep working and go for corrections.. and just go through the process, that way you are still working but following your goal to become CO.. Good luck on this.. and hope it works out for you..

If you want to earn more then try agloco first. It won't cost you anything... Every user you'll refer will earn you atleast 30$... In february when the viewbar will come out of betatesting we'll see if that program works. If not nothing lost... If it does... Then you might earn pretty good money. For more information you can look at my blog: http://ag-loco.blogspot.com/
