Thank you for your reply. I believe men are better because all the high profile chefs are male.

you are looking to crucified on here with that comment. Men are not better then women, My dad can cook better then my mom, but............ I can cook a whole lot better then him. My other half is a good cook, but..... I can cook better then him. I probably don't have anything on Bobby Flay or Emril, but if i had the recipe and the ingredients i bet I could be comparable. It's nto a male /female thing its a desire to cook.

I think my mom would kill me if she saw this one but... I agree :| From all meals I've eaten, the best ones were prepared by men. That might be a strange coincidence, but it's true.

Almost all chefs/cooks in the more famous restaurants here in the Philippines are men. I myself cook for my family at home and so do my 3 married brothers. But I wouldn't say I'm a better cook than my mom.

Well, I think it is all about passion. If you really into cooking, it does not matter whether you are a woman or man, you will be a great cook. My husband cooks better than me. I think because he is food lover and so he learns to cook his favorite cook.

no idont think that man can be great cool than women but if we see other side then we have 90% of chefs are men so i think that both of them are equal men can do cook better if wanted and women always cooks better than men in daily purposes.

Speaking as a male myself, I am completely hopeless in the kitchen and the only meal I can actually prepare myself is a simple omelette! It's a case of buying stuff and sticking them in the oven and that's it! I actually think women are the better cooks, my mum cooks a fantastic roast and I love going over to see her to get spoilt and cooked for! One of the things I miss not living at home LOL!

Not in my household. I can cook to stay alive but that is about it. My wife is a great cook and looks after us very well. I enjoy food but it is not an important part of my life - I just need to stay alive. haha

I have no against on women but I found most men as good chef. I always watched this television show about the collection of great chefs in the world and compete them in an Iron-chef Tournament. I have watched the series for couple of months already but I never seen any women contender in the show. Even the 3 iron chefs champions are all men. Anyway, if men are good cook that doesn't mean that women are not. I guess we can't generalized things. Yes, my dad is better cook than my mom but there are recipes that my mom is better than my father's skill. We have diferent skills in cooking and that make us unique indeed. What you are good at in cooking may not as good as the others and vice-versa.

I think you are right in saying that different people are good at different recipes irrespective of their genders, but however, the best slots are taken by the male. Thanks for replying.

It is true that looking at it at the international perspective, men are usually the acclaimed best cooks. However, at the Philippine homes, it is the mothers who cook best. This can only mean that women cook best for a few of her loved ones whereas, men can plan and cook for so many without qualms.

I agree that women are better cooks when it comes to everyday cooking. Its the same here in india. Mother's food rocks.

I think it comes naturally to women because of their nurturing stance that goes with their household chores, although not all women can really cook (like me, I'm not a good cook), but if they would put their mind to it, they will soon find out that it just comes out of reflex or naturally (which I've started to discover lately). Men who can cook are really skilled. It's not that common for men to be able to cook, so when they can do it, they can really do it well! That's why famous chefs are men. Another factor is the upbringing and the way the skill was acquired (like practice). Removing all these factors, I can still conclude that men have the greater capacity to be better cooks (or chefs), even if more cooks are women, because it's something extraordinary for them. Happy myLotting!

Thank you for giving me your time. I liked the point where you said that since men are less familiar when it comes to cooking, they tend to be good in it. Most chefs in the world are good because they had pursued it as a career and have given a lot of hard work and determination into the art of cooking.

i feel both can be eqally good cooks or anything else. my mom is such a good cook that she managed the whole party at our house on her own without taking the help of anyone. there wasnt any helper with her. and i think i m also a good cook, infact i love to cook.

Well its not about being a man or a woman, its about being sensitive. If you are sensitive then you tend to do things in a good way.
