I used to love watching the Oscars years ago but now I cannot stand it.
Too many self-obsessed celebrities who put themselves on such high pedestals I want to wretch!!!
The build up to the awards is bad enough with boring talk of what designer dress is going to be worn by whom.
All those self-congratulatory parties they attend and boring speeches they make.
I love watching films and admire good actors but I do so cringe at this side of the acting profession!!
Will you be watching the Oscar's this year???

No way! I hate everything it represents, money, vainess and shallowness. A bunch of people with money getting together to see who paid more there outfits and who got the best nose job. Give me a break.
"Who are you wearing?" "Who did your hair?" "Wow I love those shoes"
Gag, Gag and more Gagging.
Give me a show that awards people who saved lives, not assist in giving young girls complexes!

I thought you said it well and I agree with every word you say.
You'll soon be in for another annoying thing when the plastic Beckhams come to America. Posh will be pouting and posing all over your tv. I am so glad they are not coming back to England!!!

I love the Oscars. I'm an award show fanatic. I don't watch the pre shows or the red carpet stuff (unless there's someone I really like), but the actual award show I watch every year from beginning to end. Even if I haven't seen any of the movies. I think it's fun. And, the parties don't bother me. A lot of the speeches are boring, but sometimes there are interesting ones.

There's no way that I'll be watching those idiotic people!!!
I did, on occasion watch through the years but I completely agree with you; stupid, stupid, stupid...
And what to me is so funny, is that they give the celebrities these 'gift bags', worth thousands of dollars. What do they need with the expensive trinkets? They make enough money to choke a horse as it is...
I think the monies they spend on those stupid gift bags could be used for the 'needy' in Hollywood; but that's just my opinion.

Well said. On one hand they are preaching to us about poverty by getting on the bandwagon and on the other they represent all what is so false in this world,
