Religion v/s Spiritualism

India

I feel that religion in todays world have lost their practicality and true purpose and have become just ritualistic practices. I for one always believed that religions are just the primary educational institutions and we have to graduate with our own undersatnding of spiritualism. I am roman catholic by birth. Being born in India I am aware of teh spiritual basis of other religions like Buddhism , Hnduism and Muslim and I feel that religions on a whole restrict the spiritual growth of any individual soul primarily by defining its maturitry through confined ritualistic practices. I believe that religions are important for giving directions towards the spiritual truth but should be left behind as one proceeds on its journey towards higher truth.Whats your opinion.
