When I was 20 the conception of my son was without my consent. I did not know that I was pregnant till i was 4 months. I was an undignoised and unmedicated at the time but even then knew I was not capable of caring for him. Hes a Big boy now His parents send me pictures and this last time He picked them out. he just turned 15 will be 16 in march..god when did i get old? i keep the adoption agency aware of my address phone number and medical condtions so that they have somethin to work with for my son. So far hes never been sick in his life phsyically or emotionally and i am so proud of that fact i could fly. I was just wondering if other agreed or disagreed with adoption and if they had good or bad stories they can share.I know how hard it is to talk about sometimes. thanks

I gave my son up for adoption because he had special needs it was what was best for him..... I have maintained a relationship with him through out and I am still mommy to him he is 4 years old now and was adopted almost 2 years ago after I tried all other options....... I have a great relationship with his adopted parents and I get to see him when I want to this is a very rare thing to happen yes but when they are willing to help you and they care about you that much they are willing to be a part of your life always......yes I want him to live with me and yes I miss him lots but I know that I loved him enough to do what was best for him and for that I have no regrets even if I never get to see him again he will always be in my heart... I do not regret it at all

That sounds like this was the hardest thing that you have ever done, and, even though you gave him up for adoption, you still tried. I hope that makes sense to you? It's awesome that you have that type of relationship with the adoptive parents, and, yes, it is true that most wouldn't do this. They must care about you deeply and care that much to let your son know who you are, even though they are also apart of his life. Anyways, I just wanted to commend you on your strength and selflessness. You did what was best for him...don't ever think different.

well i think that it is really sad to see your child growing in another family.. you have carried him for 9 months and he has been attached to you for that long.. you 2 have a special connection and i know that it really hurts for you not to be able to hug your own son.. for me i would never give my child up.. because i cant.. i just cant. anyway i am so proud of you because you are strong and i think you did the right thing since as you can see you son is living a wonderful life.

I think that you are one strong women. I have not given up a children but I can understand why someone would. You have given two people a good life your son that you knew that you would not be able to properly care for the the family that adopted him. I think that this makes you a wonderful person and it is wonderful that at least you are able too see pictures of him.

Thank you for the compliment. If i can get my scanner to work I will put a couple of his pictures up. Hes a handsome devil despite me being his bio mom lol. just before his 14th bday he was 5'6 168lbs and wore a 11 1/2-12 shoe. I cant wait to see how big hes going to end up. And there is a part of me that hopes He will want to meet me when he turns 18. Now that is something that truly scares the hell out of me. But I am so willing to deal with that. Times get close to his bday I think thats why i brought up. his bday is march 15th.

I'm just so thankful you didn't have an abortion, for that in itself you should be patting yourself on the back. I definately agree with Adoption & my heart does go out to the parents that give their child up for adoption because I just imagine the pain they must feel letting go & thinking of their children every day-- but, for whatever reason they chose to give their child up for-- I'm just happy that they gave that child life & gave life to another family that couldn't bring it into the world themselves or a family that has other children of their own but wanted more.. either way, it's a wonderful beautiful gift.

i agree with adoption, yu know , everything has its advantages and disadvantages. you may have a sad story but let's also lok at its advantages. some children are given a 2nd chance to experience how to have a family.

Adoption is the most *selfless* and generous thing you can do for your child if you know you cannot give them the best. I believe your decision was made with love and that you should never regret it.

if you really cannot raise a child, then it would be beter if you let your child be adopt by couples who are seeking for a child. now if im in your situation, i think i will not let my child find another parents, it's so hard to see your child growing happy with his step-parents. For sure i will regret it, if i do the same thing.
