Do you trust information on the web? how do you know what sites to trust?

it depends, but i see to it that i read carefully the information before i trust them, i do lots of research in the internet and i find it really helpful.

Internet is really a big help. You can find all sorts of information about anything. If the information i got comes from a trusted website like encyclopedia online, i will trust it.

For me it depends on the websites which i found the information from. Sometimes even the information on wikipedia are not very accurate, because they are contributed by people all over the world, not necessarily it's accurate. You just don't know who the person who contributed that materials really is. But for me, at least you got the idea of the information you were looking for. So you can use that for further findings.

yeah, some contents of the wiki came from contributors but there are some who seriously manages their wikis contents. Anyway thanks for the response.

yes sometimes i do while sometimes i don't.i trust siters like wikipedia,yahoo,rediff,microsoft..the website appearance and ownership makes the influence on me whether i would trust that site or not.thanks

Thanks for the response. I look for people's comments whenever i download something from the net while i only go for known sites like about.com when i need articles and other kind of information.
