Having A Rabbit As A Pet

It is an unforgetable experience to have a rabbit as a pet. Mine was a special one, who divided her 6X6 room to three equal portions. One where she dragges all her food stuff to, one where she emptied her bowels, and one where she slept. She has curious diet pattern too. While I thought she would like carrots and grass, she found out soon that she had a special liking for the garden flowers and the arrowroots that were kept safe in a sack in her room. About the flowers, we found out very soon, but realised about the arrowroots only when the size of the sack decreased noticeable. She chose the side of the sack facing the wall to make a small hole through which she managed to sqeaze out one arrowroot at a time:) Wise animal, eh? I believe rabbits can be as good as cats and dogs, for their entertainment and distraction value. Do you agree?

Rabbits are very beautiful animals and it is sad that because they are so small and quiet they quite often get neglected by selfish owners, who buy them for their children as pets and then get bored and just leave the alone. A friend of mine breeds lop-eaed rabbits and they are really quite intelligent too. Because I am primarily a "cat-person" I have never kept one as a pet myself - I was always too scared something would happen to it. My next door neighbours used to have a lovely black rabbit, and I was always terrified that my rampaging felines would attack her. Thankfully they did not!

It is really unfortunate that some owners have the heart to ignore a quiet rabbit darling. But then, we tend to ignore even quiet darling people too, eh? Thank you very much for the response. Since you are a cat-person, do you like cat acrtoons/animations? I am a fan of Garfiled the movie:)

yes, i had my own rabbit as a child, i loved it dearly. I lived on a small holding in the heart of the yorkshire countryside and he used to play with me, no cage could hold him he used to run free but always come home to be fed, he lived like this for almost ten years until he was killed by gypsies who took his back feet

We have a rabbit along with cats and a dog. He's great. He loves Timothy Hay as a special treat. He loves to lay on top of his plastic igloo and tease the cats when possible. When he's out and about he has fun exploring the area. He could care less about the dog or the cats. He just enjoys things. He will come up to people for pettings and if he's in his cage will go on his back legs to get your attention. He's a great pet and one I'm glad we have.

well i had kept a rabbit once, but just after 5 days, the rabbit was attacked by a cat..and it brought a disastrous end to a small baby rabbit, i havent dared to keep rabbits as pet from that day,but i have three dogs, which take care of all the cats of my colony.

If you want to be close to your rabbit you need to learn rabbit body language and actions.Yes,rabbits have rules of etiquette too..LOL! They also have a sense of humor ,when my bun wants to play he kicks his feet and flings his ears about..LOL! Wonderful pets!
