best thing to do is first to get rid of those unnecessary abdominal fats. naturally, everyone has six packs but it just doesnt show since it is covered with doing cardiovascular activities is a lot better and efficient than doing sit-ups and crunches solely. sit-ups and crunches is best when body fat percentage is already quite low and for firming purposes. random exercises is the best for losing those unwanted fats since the body would not adopt a certain form of exercise, thus metabolism is always high. for constant and full exercise, i'd say 6 months is sufficient enough to have great results

i had a 6 pack 2 years ago .. long gone now as i bulked up for bigger biceps and chest to get it i had to do stupid amounts of exerize and drop my bodyfat to 8% took about 2 years to get it getting a six pack depends on genetics some people only get a 4pack some 6 and some 8 i felt weak at 8% bodyfat and would pass out alot i might go for it back in a couple of years or see if i have the genetis for an 8 pack
