Do gentlemen still exist?

I guess I am "old fashion" but I still like for a man to open the car door, front door, let woman go into office building, elevator, etc.. first. I know some of you are saying this is "2007" but I still love for a man to be a gentlemen. I think that says a lot for a man who still has those old fashion type values. Am I the only one who loves to go on a date and the man opens the car door? and when you are walking down the street he makes sure that he walks on the outside. Do gentlemen still exist? Am I the only one that still loves that treatment?

I am as old fashion as you are. My husband of 30 years, still opens the doors for me, and walks on the outside of the street. He still treats me the same as when we were courting. If a women wants to be treated like a lady, then she will. A lot of people in general just don't have manners. But, there still are some men out there that do.

Thank you and thank your husband. The person that I have been dating for some time now he loves to still open the car door, and any other door,etc.. but It just seems like at work and other places I go men just don't seem to have to desire to be nice like that. I am so happy that your husband is that way. And this man I love and hope to marry soon is that way.

I am sure anyand everyone enjoys being treated with curtesy. but the age of the Gentleman is over. nobody has the time or the inclination. you see it dont pay you anything to be a gentleman. and todays world is the I ME & MYSELF world, where people only do things for a consideration. I myself like to open doors and and put the toilet seat up after i use it but from what i see around most people dont have any idea about these things. like the other day i tried to open the door of a bank for this lady?? no woman and she started fighting with me saying i was trying to get ahead of her!?!?!?!?!? so well that says it all i think.

Oh no that is toooooooo bad. Sorry that lady took it the wrong way. It is so sad that some women can't appreciate a real man - gentlemen. When we look around there doesn't seem to be many left but it is good to see that people like you are still around. Thanks for your comment

Yes gentlemen do still exist they are just hard to find. And you cannot expect everything unfortunately! I have a 7 year old son who I am really trying to instill helping out others within in him. I have him help with carrying the groceries, taking out the garbagem, etc. So hopefully when he gets married, or moves on with his life, he knows to always help out his elders and especially women.

I do most of what you mention but the problem is that it isn't always wanted nowadays. Some women get most upset if you hold a door open or follow some of the rules that I was brought up with. I guess times change, and have always done so.

Yes, gentlemen still exist but only when he is trying to impress a girl. His true attitude will be seen when he get the thing he wants most out of a girl.

Thanks for responding I think some of what you are saying may be true. But is he really a gentlemen if he only acts like one when girls give them what they want. I need him to be a gentlemen first and then let everything else follow that.

They are few and far in this world, but they do still exist. I am one of them and so are my two sons, and I am sure that we are not alone in this world, there must be another 10 or so sadly.
