one of the reason i could think of is that they definitely love sweets and chocolates are not exception to that (or eventually a person may even say thats its one of his/her favorite). but as for me, i do eat chocolates depending on my mood. There are times i go for it to level down my stress from day to day activities.

You both respond that Chocolates calms you down. The effect of Chocolate to me is the exact opposite. Chocolates, pumps me up. Is it me? or is it the Chocolates? Man, this is weird.

chocolate is made up of chemicals associated with mood, emotion and addiction. many people eat chocolate as a comfort food when they're stressed or depressed. the question is, do people crave for chocolate because their bodies and brains are addicted to the chemicals in it or do people crave chocolate because they have a psychological attachment to it?

I think that chocolate can work either way. Chocolates affects people chemically and psychologically. The effect varies on humans. That's what I think about it. Like me, chocolate affects me chemically.

Everyone has their own reasons why they crave for chocolates. for me (before), i crave for chocolates because i really love sweets. sometimes for comfort. I used to have a feeling of warmth and comfort whenever i eat chocolates. ^_^

The active ingredient in chocolate, theobromine (which is from the cocoa) does have a "pumping" effect: you will feel energized, and so on. Simply because it will quickly raise your blood sugar for a short time. Because of the high blood sugar, your bady needs to produce extra insulin - then your blood sugar will sink again. And it will be so low that you will start to crave for chocolate to raise your blood sugar again... Vicious circle, but this is the simple explanation to it. And the other factor is the sugar which has this same effect. Plus, it will eat up the vitamin B1 from your brain, which is necessary for the nerves to work properly, and you will get tired, sleepy. So you will want to put some more sugar into your body... So, one can expalin this thing with all kind of psychological theories (that chocolate release some hormon that will make you happy, or, if it gives you a nice feeling, you want to have it all the time, etc), but it's simply this bad physical effect of the chocolate.

I think that everybody loves chocolate. I love chocolate. It has a taste that is really irresistable. You can never go wrong with chocolates. I think that anyone who says that he or she doesn't like chocolate is a liar.
