Although it has been a long time since I have visited the islands, my fondest memories are of Kuaui. It is so lovely, and just peaceful.

Its been nearly 10 years since I left Hawaii to return home after my studies there. I've enjoyed my time in Oahu but out of all of the islands I've visited... Kauai is my personal favorite. Its just so extremely beautiful.

I have to agree with you on that one... no arguments here... it was the most breathtaking... not a lot of crowds... the people were awesome... all the way around the best island! Thanks for the response Zelo

I've only been to the island of Oahu. I fell in love with it. I got to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe, went shopping at the market, got to spend a lot of time at the beach. It was such a beautiful place. I got to see a rainbow every single day in the sky.

I am with you. I was raised on Oahu, in a town called Kailua on the windward side. Oahu is different than the other islands. It offers more work opportunities and activitiy choices. The rainbows are just unbeatable!

Kauai, completely. It's a lovely place, the pace is slow, and it's not as crowded as the other islands. Amma

Kuaui is not as busy as Maui or Oahu but it is starting to get there... hopefully it will be a place we can keep going to to get away from the hustle and bustle of 'real life' for some time to come....

When I decided to take my wife to Hawai'i I didn't know where to go or what to do so that is why I visited all the islands and all of them are nice... some better than others and all the islands have their ups and downs. If you are a beach/party person then the big island of Oahu is the island for you, if you like it quieter like my wife and myself then Maui or Kawai is the place to go. Thanks for the response Zelo

Hawaii - A picture that I took of the University of Hawaii when I was last there.
I would have to say my favorite island is Oahu since that is the only island that I have been to and seen plus many of my relatives live there. My dad was born in Oahu and have visited Honolulu a couple of times when I was younger. It is absolutely gorgeous there and wish that i could live there but it is too expensive to live there. The people are really nice there plus having relatives live there is great. The beaches are the best and the food and scenery.

Who can go to Hawai'i and not have SOMETHING they don't miss... Kona coffee that is not outragously expensive... macadamia nuts... there is a lot more stuff there that I miss as well. Thanks for the response Zelo

How about the next time I head off to Hawai'i I will give you a ring and we can head out there together. It is one of those places that everyone should experience at least once in a lifetime. Thanks for the response Zelo

I have had the fortune of going to all the islands and the best island for me has to be Kauai. Oahu (Hawaii as we know it) is too over-run with tourists although Waikiki Beach and Pearl Harbor are not to be missed. Kauai has not built up like the Big Island and Maui and still retains the charm that is and was Hawaii.

I liked Kauai myself. It seemed a little more expensive than the others but still there is nothing like the peacefullness you get there.

That is really the only place that you can go in Hawai'i to get the really nice beaches and the black beaches are totally cool. There are others on other islands but nothing like the big island. Thanks for the response Zelo

So far I've been to only O'ahu and Maui, but I like both of them. While O'ahu has the Waikiki Beach and more adventurous activities in my opinion, I also like Maui because of less people visiting there, and it is more relaxing and peaceful. While I get to surf and kayak in the Waikiki Beach, I get to snorkel in Wailea Beach or build sandcastles in the local beaches in Maui.

Oahu's beach is MUCH larger than any of Maui's beaches and anyone who has been to Hawaii lately knows that Maui is becoming almost as crowded as Oahu (though not quite there yet)

When I was in Maui it wasn't as bad as what some people had made it out to be... the main island... yeah really crowded but there were parts of Maui that were a little crowded and there were others I found to be quite quaint. Thanks for the response Zelo

I know that Maui is getting a bit more crowded, but at least it doesn't have as many tourists as Honolulu's. Besides, it is the capital of the Hawaiian Islands.

Kauai has the best beaches and scenery and isn't as crowded as islands like Maui or Oahu.
