How can I get my husband keep from getting my kids ugly video games?

I have tried telling him that I do not agree with the video games he has purchased for them in the past. Right now the popular game in our house is " Gears of War"(XBOX 360)! This is such a violent game, but if my husband spends hours glued to it, how can I expect not for my kids to play it! Give me ideas.....anything.

I would love to know where fluffy frog got the info about violent crimes being down in teens.
I agree with you, they are bad for kids. My son got his first video game at 13 and I had all approval on what was bought until he was 18.
You are the parent. You get your kids the games you think is appropriate and tell your hubby (the big kid) that he can not play that game until after the kids are in bed.
Kids should be out running around in the day time and at night there are much better ways they can spend their time, coloring, board games, crafts etc.

i have the same problem! i have a 5 year old daughter and she loves sitting beside daddy ALLLLL day long while he is playing god of war, or these bloody gory video games. Im interested in hearing what others post so that i too can beneift from your great post! thank you

Dont send him to get the video games u get the video ames for them kids
