Where Does MYLOT get its money... How does it work for them?

I'm sure that this website does not just exist so someone can pay a bunch of writers and wannabe writers money. What is mylot really about? How does it receive its money? Is it sponsored by Google? or some other advertisers? And what is the point of the website at all?
