Facts, evidence, proof. The Bible is an undisputed book of fact. It's existance, authenticity is proven. Archaeology for instance has uncovered proofs as the Bible said. Bible, Jobs 26:7 says "He suspends the earth upon nothingness" many many years before the first scientists at that time get that notion. If you really try to disprove it, you will find the opposite - that the Bible is really facts!

So if I write in a book that the sky is blue, and also write in the same book that pigs fly, does that make everything in the book true because one thing is true? Don't get me wrong here. I'm not saying that the Bible was not inspired by the Christian God. I have no argument with the idea that God told humans to write the documents that came together and became known as "the Bible". However, these documents were written by different people over a stretch of time, and there are pieces that are definitely colored by the personal opinions of the authors and by the culture of the time. Not to mention the opinions of those translating, copying, etc. I have a lot of respect for the researchers that have taken the time and effort to go through the Bible and sort out the parts that are likely just cultural or personal opinion and try to find the pieces that probably have something to do with something the Christian God or Jesus might actually have said or wanted followers to believe.

that is the beauty of it,it was written by different people, different, times, different, places, and they all connect, from genesis with the prophesy of the mesia smashing the head of the serpent,"the devil" to the restablishment of the kindom of God on earth"revelations",moses talked about jesus, jesus talked about moses and even about adam and eve, confirming the truthfullness of the writings of moses, controvercies i haven't heard of any yet.

I see the Bible as the record of mans understanding of God, not the words of god himself. It may be inspired by God but not dictated by god.

The Bible is an infallible book. It is the book that never gets obsolete. All the information are and will always be true. A lot of people find comfort and respite from reading the Bible. All questions about life and existence can be answered by the Bible. If you want a powerful proof of how the Bible can change a person is found in this link: http://www.wordworx.co.nz/panin.html Read it and you will be amazed.

If that is so why are there so many versions of it, why has it changed so much over the two thousand years of its existance?

That's a very good question you got. I had a chance to meet a hippie here in Bangkok and he told me his miraculous conversion story. He also shared with me a story of an agnostic person who was converted because of his unbelievable discovery of the divine inspiration in writing the books of the Bible. If you got enough time you can search for "Panin" or "Is God a Mathematician?" You will see how he considered as the most agnostic person is converted.

Yes, I do believe in the word of God and the God Himself. why? Because when I read it, I found answers that human cannot figure out, I feel peace and I feel happiness when I read the bible. Sometimes the words are so deep that I have to reflect on my life again. Ive done so many things against the God, but God forgives when I ask for forgiveness. After 2 years reading the bible, I have changed to be a better person, thats what my family and friends also notice, I have become more patient, become more diligent and all the good things, but Im still striving to be more perfect

The only way the Bible could be the word of "God" or any god, would be if that diety suffered from multiple personalities. There's too much conflict within the Bible itself for it to come from directly from any one writer, human or divine. How can you reconcile different "books" of the Bible that voice completely different views on the same topics?

i believe in god.i am not a christian ,i believe in jesus.i don't believe that the true words of god is still in bible.i am sure that people of different times must have rewritten it according to their convenience .and made it really their words rather than god's.

I believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of God. I am a Christian and the Christian religion is in the Holy Bible. The Holy Bible is complete and no one can do that except God. Those who want to change cannot be successful.
