Two words "anti-depressants" Did you know that about 1 in 5 people have experienced panic attacks and/or depression at some time in they're lives? And i'm one of them 23 and on paxil!,my dr says for life! I attribute it to th stress filled society we live in today. Some will say its emotional, some sort of suppresed trauma that occured in my life.Sorry thats not so,since i was 16 i started having panic attacks and they havent stopped, paxil has saved me.I can now live a normal life and dont have to worry about this awful feeling coming over me.If you've ever experienced a panic attack then you know what i am talking about, and if you havent,i hope you never do!!xxx

I feel your pain, I've suffered from panic attacks, stress & anxiety most of my adult life. It is a symptom of modern life. It is just too much & we weren't meant to be living this way.

There is no such thing as normal. The world is full of stress. Depression is an eniviromental issue usually. I used to be depressed. Now it's just seldom depression for me. I am not sure how well anti-depressants work.

Reactions to stress are manifold. No one situation is stressful to all the people all the time. Some of the factors that can produce stress are children or the lack of them, the boss or the subordinate, the traffic ,the telephone or the lackof it, overwork or not enough to do, too much money or too little of it, making decision, a dull routine job, lack of authority and apprehensions about the future.

I suffer from depression and anxiety but I think mine is hereditary. Stress definitely makes it worse though. I'm not really surprised about the percentage of people that have these conditions. I worked at a doctor's office at one time and so many people that came in were on this type of meds.
