Ponting has never been out of form? Dude, about 5 years back, he was just an average player in the Australian Cricket Team. Its over the past 4-5 years that he has played well consistently. And for a batsman to be called the best, he has got to perform well in all parts of the world. And Ponting averages 12 in the subcontinent. If a batsman cant bat in subcontinent conditions against spinners like Murali, Kumble and Harbhajan, he is far from being called the best. I know this is not related to the World Cup. But this is related to Ponting. About the World Cup, Sachin has always been a master in World Cups since 1996 so my money's on him.

I think most probably alrounder will be the man of the series. If in good form most probably Sachin Tendulkar will be the man of the series because of this class. Based on the form I think any of the following players could be the man of the series if the particular team can make up to the finals or win the worldcup. For Australia I think Ricky ponting, Andrew Symonds, Adam Gilchrist, or Hussey. For England Kevin Peterson. For India Sachin, Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, Dhoni, or Ganguly. For Srilanka Jayasurya. For Pakistan Afridi, Yousuf, Younis Khan, or Inzamam Haq. For New Zealand Stephen Fleming. For South Africa Jack Kallis or Smith. For Bangladesh Ashraf. For Zimbabwe Taylor. For Westindies Lara or Gayle. I personally think most probably Hussey will be the man of the series.

Acoording to me it would be once again the magician Murlitahran or the best batsman currently in the form and that would be Ricky Ponting or Petersen....

IF you go to see by the current form Of each and every team and players then let me Tell You Just have a look at the Just Completed FIFA World Cup... Brazil was considered as the contenders for winning the world cup but Italy made a steel. My Say is that This Time Australia will Not Win the World Cup. And Abt The Man Of the Series then HAve a Look at the Contenders According to the Team: AUSTRALIA: 1. B.Lee 2. M.Hussey Pakistan: 1. Inzamam 2. M.Asif(if Allowed to play the world CUp looking at his Ban upholding) Sri Lanka: 1. S.Jayasuriya 2 M.Muralitharan South Africa: 1. A.B.Devilliars 2. S.Pollock India: 1. S.Ganguly 2. M.Patel New Zealand: 1. Ross Taylor 2. J.Patel West Indies: 1. S.Chanderpaul 2. D.Bravo
