House Invasion.

We have a cat visiting us. My two cats really don't like it. There is much hissing and growling in the air. Itty, the kitten isn't one to hiss. She is curious and wants to make friends. She loves to play. Our guest, Lotus has been checking out the house. It is funny to watch this.

We have multiple cats and we have to be referees at times. We try to give them all the attention they think that they deserve. Also since we explain to them that no fighting is allowed, I will annoint them with a few drops from the water bottle if they do not behave. It works pretty good. Also they do have a pecking order and it should work itself out in a bit. Good luck. You are fortunate to be adopted by a cat!

Oh the power that a water bottle can hold. I have several stationed throughout the house.

Yeah a new visitor makes my two Tom Cats freak out. They don't like it one bit. We just got a new kitten not long ago and they we mad. They wouldn't even eat! Now they are all pals and there is peace and harmony in the house once more.

Well cats are territorial. So, they will act different when any animal comes into the house, it's normal.

I have had a house invasion with animals before. When my partner's mother comes to visit, she brings her two mini toy poodles with her. They are very old and don't move around that much any more. It is quite funny at times because Dinky is going deaf and Prine is going blind. So she will just lay there and stare at you hoping you will take pitty and he will walk into walls or bump into your ankles when you stop walking. Well, when you include my beagle mix who was only a year the first time of the invasion, young dogs only seem to harrass older dogs. LOL My dog, KC, was constantly sniffing their butts! OK, I know this is normal for a dog. But at some point, another dog must feel violated! LOL And if she was not violating their personal space, KC was trying to corral them to where she wanted them to go. The poor old dogs just wanted to lay down and be left alone and poor KC just wanted to play! LOL It was rather funny to watch at my stand point...but not so funny from my partner's mother's stand point. LOL

Yea, there is only so many times you could put up with a stranger sniffing your butt! They are a riot to watch. Last night the cats were lined up in the hallway, but spaced about 3 feet apart. Suddenly, Lotus wanted to move and growled and they all scattered.

I've been very lucky with all my cats. They have adjusted quite well with each other. I did have one stray that I brought in that just would not get along with the other cats. He hid in the bedroom. He became my son's cat. My son would bring some food and water into his room and feed him there.

Oh I've been there with new cats coming into the house. It can be quite funny to watch. You are best off just letting them work it out on their own. Most cats will and soon they will be getting along. Of course at first they won't want you to see that they are but before you know it they will be fine.

LOL, that is so cute. I mean, the hissing isn't so cute *laugh* But just the idea of one of the kitties wanting to make friends, aww... that's so sweet ^_^ I wish that we still had pets around the house. I really miss all of the pets that we used to have.

Cats can be territorial animals and this visiting cat may be nervous or possessive of his space.

Poor kitty, I hope the other cats won't hurt her at all. I'm glad she is nice to the other cats. Some cats that come for visits just like to be mean, I'm glad that one is different. Enjoy the time with her.
