If you're flying solo on Valentines Day, what do you do? Do you just ignore it? Do you do something special, like get together with friends? I'll be single this Valentines Day and while I can plan activities with my kids, I still feel that little ping on Feb. 14th. I even try to tell myself it's just a holiday to get people to spend lots of money buying candy, cards, flowers, dinners, nighties, etc, but it doesn't work. Valentines Day does bother me a bit being single. So.... What do you do for Valentines Day, if there is no one in your life to share it with?

If I were single I would drink and eat on Valentines Day because on the same day here in my country is another fest of drinking - its name is Saint Trifon Zarezan.

I am in the lonely hearts club for Valentines, and I am going to buy me some cheap roses at Aldis probably a day or two before so they don't run out. I will go out for dinner with my daughter and have a good time. I work for the Federal Government and they donot allow flower delivery so I won't see flowers and chocolates all day to remind me I have no one.

Go to my computer, find other person that have same situation with me. Maybe with Yahoo!messanger or Live Messanger (MSN). So with that i get my Valentines Days to share with.

This is the best time to treat yourself to something that youve been wanting to do for a long time. Now come on you have the time to plan it out or if you have to call and make a reservation or whatever your planning to do you know that you have to get your plans set by the 14th of February. Valentines Day is to recognize someone you love but if you truly love someone you recognize them everyday. To all you single people go out there and treat yourself or find a single friend or family member and enjoy it with them to. One SisterLove

i've been spending my valentine's by my lonesome but i never felt unhappy about it.. when i see lovers hold hands or when i see them looking excited about going out for the night it makes me feel good that for a while almost everybody is spending some time to be happy.. last valetine i bought a cake..i was planning to bring it home to spend the holiday.. but what makes it really special is the people around me that also doesn't have anyone special to spend it with..so we all spend it together..we go on dates as a group boys give flowers to all their girl friends.. i think that is so much better..^_^

Well, I haven't really been celebrating Valentine's day my whole life.. yeah I'm single all the way.haha. But it's not as bad as it sounds, maybe not for those who's been celebrating it almost every year but not this time around, but aside from that I guess it's not that big of a deal. I just go through the day the usual way, do what I usually do nothing special really.

every valentine day, i always give my friend a chocolate and so them give me a chocolate or sometimes rose, and i also hanging out with my friend, sometimes we get a dinner together in a restaurant. i think valentine for people that are single is not bad. for me valentine doesn't meant we must have a couple, for me valentine is a day that we show our love to people that we care and we love.

ya its true, there no point in feeling single because you have your friends, family to share your love on this occasion but not just that your are with your partner or Lover.

I'll most likely be single for Vtines day, unless someone asks me to the dance... I probably won't do anything... just sit and think of my xgf i'm nuts about... I might do something with friends, but probably not. Not quite looking forward to it... but atleast i won't have to worry about a present? =D

Don't be bothered too much on being single and without a special someone on valentines day. Remember, you are not alone.. there are also lots of singles out there who will celebrate valentines day just by themselves, and that includes me! hehehe. But valentines day is a celebration of LOVE, in fact, you can make everyday a valentines day! We, singles, can celebrate it with family or friends or both. Or.. if no family or friends are present (which may be impossible), you have YOURSELF.. and its equally important to LOVE YOURSELF. So treat yourself on valentines day.. watch your favorite movie, eat your favorite food, pamper yourself in spa, do what you've been dying to do but wasn't able to do for a long time.. enjoy life! good luck!

That sounds like a great idea. After the kids are asleep, I'll pop in a movie that I want to watch and maybe a sweet treat with it.

Hi there! Well, I can relate to your situation, what I do in Valentines is spend time pampering and entertaining myself, I keep myself busy in things that will make me feel better, just like having my nails done, reading romantic novels while having a hot choco, watching romantic movies by myself or just hanging out with my best buddies. Activites with your kids, hmm, bring them to an amusement park, have fun with them, give them what they want, visit your relatives or go shopping with your kids, or just spend time at home [bake cakes or so]. Just remember to enjoy every moment spent with them and your Valentines will be worth to be cherished forever. :)
