How do you get rid of a bad headache?

i never get it to go away i hate taking medicine so i usually take a cool cloth and cover my eyes and try and fall asleep.. sometimes works

excedrin also works for me, but we just have to be careful and not take more than 2 in the span of 24 hours. excedrin also comes in extra strength, for those nastier headaches. sometimes it also helps to press that fleshy area in between the thumb and the pointer. getting a head massage also eases the pain for me.

I always start with aspirin and if that doesn't work I get a goody's powder. Goody's is fast and always works. Sometimes it is best to close your eyes and rest them while the headache eases off. Keep some Goody's around for the bad times you will be thankful you did.

The only thing that gets rid of my headaches is Excedrin. It has a combination of acetaminaphin (sp?), aspirin and caffiene in it that knocks my headaches out really fast. If all else fails, take some tylenol with Mountain Dew or strong coffee. You were on the right track with what you did. Caffiene dilates the blood vessels in your head and that helps to ease most headaches.
