We go on diets, and we replace regular Pepsi for a diet Pepsi. Are we really eating healty? I saw a television news report stating that the Diet Pepsi could be the cause of some types of cancer.

I haven't actually heard that, but sadly, it wouldn't surprise me. I have heard that 'fake sugars' aren't good for you, just like 'corn syrup' type sugars aren't good for you. But then again, I also feel like everything causes some form of cancer these days. Or at least there are always studies to prove that things are causing cancer. Heck, maybe this computer screen will cause ocular cancer. (Not that I'm downgrading the seriousness and devastation of cancer in any way. I've lost loved ones to cancer. But don't you feel like you're always hearing about something new being linked to cancer?)

Actually, the things they use to make things "diet" are usually worse for you chemically than plain old sugar would be. Of course the best solution would be to just not drink sodas, as there's really no redeeming quality to them. Of course I'm preaching to myself on that one too.
