Should it be the parents? should it be the kids? should it be the man? perhaps it should be the woman? Whoever it is is not a matter of should but a matter of who does!

I think in a married couple it should be the man. I feel like the hard labor jobs should be for men and the caring for babies and cooking should be for women. THat isn't to say that men shouldn't help out of the women are sick and likewise in reverse, but on a normal day, women should be treated like ladies and men should mow the lawn.

I grew up in a family of boys, my father would not have dreamed of expecting me to mow the lawns and all our boys were too lazy to help. I remember wanting to try it once but my father wouldn't let me. When my father had been to hospital one time, our next door neighbour came in to help, as our boys wouldn't do it. It is not just to-day's teenagers who are difficult, but they do have a lot more problems to cope with nowadays. Nevertheless our boys all grew up to take their responsibilities seriously and turned into good husbands and fathers AND mowed the lawns. My husband hated lawn mowing, so much so that our neighbours complained behind his back. Once a month or so we'd have a huge row and he'd do it. I wanted to pay someone to mow the lawns, we could afford it, but my husband never would. Now he is older he pays someone to mow the lawn and is happy to do so. It just goes to show we all have our silly moments. It's all so crazy really.

Yeah, my Dad never let me mow the lawn, even when I wanted to try it. The first time I ever even tried it was when I was twenty five, last year. My husband went to do his mom's lawn and asked me to hold the mower for a second while he got a drink so I pushed it a few feet until he saw and ran over and grabbed it. He is like my dad and yours, he doesn't think I should have to do it either.

if the kids are old enough, they should to teach them responsibilty. If nobody has the time, a lawn service. Depending on your location it can be pretty inexpensive, and worth the cost to avoid the hassle.

I think whomever is available should do it, but I also believe that when you have kids and they are old enough, mowing the lawn should be one of their chores. Helping carry the load of keeping up the home.

Whoever gets the chance to mow the lawn should do it. If you have kids old enough I don't see anything wrong with having that be their chore once and awhile. I actually love to mow the lawn on warm days. I get my exercise plus I can get a tan :)

It should be who has the time at the moment...and everyone should have their turn to do so.
