Or they're just going to make a mess? No doubt about it, they won because of their popularity! What do they know about politics? Or would you say otherwise? Share your opinions.

Actors are also human beings and citizens of the country too. They have every right to participate in elections. But then being a politician requires special skills and a lot of networking capabilities, not just popularity. It can win you an election the first time, but is not a guarantee for your political success. Now, from public point of view, public takes the popularity of the actors as their social status and actually has to be blamed for all the mess these polpular politician turned actors create. We need to understand that politics and popularity are not one and the same thing. One should have an aim towards societal goals to become a better politician. And that is something which should be given more weightage.

You know that our politicians are manipulated by their peers. Arnold Schwarzenegger was an actor but he's making a good job as governor of California. Reagan was an actor but he did a good job as president of the US. There's something wrong with our politics. The sad thing is that those who've been in the position for a long time they bully or prey on the newbies instead of supporting them. In other words, they don't want to share their prestige and the wealth they can amass.

There's really nothing wrong with them running for governement positions as nothing is impeding them from running. The only problem is they are actually running for higher posts immediately. They don't even want to start in the lower levels. It also depends on the voters, I guess, to see if they are really capable of being public servants. As the elections here in the Philippines is near, many actors have already announced their plans to run for public office. I don't really know what's going to happen if they win as we have already experienced that with some of the actors-turned politicians: some have good track record and some I guess they've done nothing.

This has become a trend in my country. National election is upcoming and almost in our doorstep. A lot of actors has express their interest to run for office. Now im not against an actor joining the election for some of them have really made a great job in proving themselve worthy to be elected while others are mere mediocre. I believe people should rethink their stand about this and take in consideration that actors have the right to run for office too. Regarding their capability as an elected official, i think we should let the people decide and just hope that they will vote a candidate based on their performance and not on popularity.

i think as long as they really wanted to help those people who really are in need i don't see anything wrong, and also if they really are willing to be a public servant
