when is it too soon to move in with someone?

my best friend recently started dating this guy that we knew years ago. we haven't talked to him years b/c he got married and had a couple kids so he stopped handing out with his female friends. he was always pretty immature and more into getting high or drunk than any thing else. that's why i was really surprised when i heard he got married and had kids. anyway he got divorced sevral years ago and went to prison for 5 years for carjacking. of course he has this great excuse about how he was on drugs and it was a big misunderstanding and she believes him. they have been seeing each other for a couple of weeks now(ever since he got out of prison and they ran into each other) and she has been with him every night since. they are talking about moving in together. he doesn't take care of his kids. he has never even seen the youngest one who is 8. what do you guys think about this?
