I've heard bad things about poetry.com. Should I let them publish my poem?

When I think about the life I conclude that the sense of life for me is to left something behind me. Something good. If more people will read you poem and this will make them feel it then post it. You can earn money for you poem but is this the more important? What about the pleasure of knowing that your poem will be read by so many people?

I always let them publish my work, but I never buy anything. One day your poem will mean something to someone. They will be in these books published and referred to. I also have poems on line published by poetry.com. Sure they want you to buy the books, they would not be in marketing if they did not "market" to us.

Poetry.com wants to publish everyone's poems in hopes that the person will buy the "book of poetry" they publish and charge a large amount for. This way, their actual costs are minimal but the profits received from the poets and their families would be incredible! My opinion is that they are a form of a scam.I have had a few poems published by them so I don't believe it is a case of "sour grapes".
