I've never had the chance to use any other than Windows, I find Windows good and user friendly, what are your views? and what O.S. do you use and/ or prefer?

I'm on Windows Vista right now. Got some nice features and is running stable. I have tried some Linux distributions some time ago but there were a lot of problems while installing drivers. Not good for the daily work i guess.

I work on Windows XP. And unlike many I had my share of troubles with XP eversince I had started working on it. I have worked on Service Packs 1, 2 and have been constantly been getting problems with some applications. I also find that I had to restore my settings to a back date many times as Windows gets into trouble. I liked this feature a lot and it has saved me a lot of precious time and data, while doing so. But I just fail to understand why Windows goes into such a problem? I find Linux doesn't have such a problem. I prefer Open Source in other software, but I have stuck down with Windows. My clients also use Windows and we all seem to have already invested in it a lot! I would really like to know more about Media Center and Vista capabilities. Anyone out there who could let me know the details?

My favorite operating system is Solaris 9 and 10. It is very reliable, impervious to malware and I've never had to deal with a system crash. I also enjoy using different flavors of linux. If I have to use Windows I only use Windows XP Pro because it doesn't come pre-installed with a bunch of needless software.

I use Windows XP Media Center Edition, and I have no problems with it. I've been using XP since it came out in 2001, and I'm comfortable with it. They've gotten all the bugs out of it and it works pretty smoothly in most cases. Windows Vista will be out at the end of the month and then we're going to have to start over again. I recently bought a new computer, so I'll get a free upgrade to Vista. I almost half don't want to install it. I've used the Beta which is pretty impressive, but essentially all they've done is mimic Mac OS X. The new OS is very RAM and graphics intensive, so most computers can't even run it. Additionally, a lot of things are completely different so there will be a lot of learning involved. We'll see how it pans out.

Yes many people use Windows. Whenever some1 purchases a PC, automatically Windows will be installed, unless the buyer requests another O.S. Or at least that what happens in my country hehe

Windows XP is good and stable if you are not a very heavy user. However the OS I prefer is Ubuntu Linux, as it is more customizable, advanced and fast. For games however there is no choice

I am using Windows XP service pack 2 right now. Its better for personal use than LINUX. But if it comes for security, I prefer LINUX, that is, if you have some most crucial documents. Thats all. Thanks, have a nice day.

i am using many os (most of them on other computers) on the main computer i have yoper(linux OS -the fastest OS) and windows Xp pro sp 2 on laptop i have winxp too (i tried fedora core but it wasnt good for it so i change it back) on the server pc (FreeBSD! , nothings really better then this os in networking stuff! *not linux*) and in my usb stick (Flash memory) i got nice live slax (Linux Too) , really nice plug your flash memory to any computer and start using your OS and i tried many other linux (unbuntu*debian* , gentoo and many others) Linux is greatest OS but the only problem is the drivers once you set every things and get nice fresh kernel you will get the best OS:}

I went over to Mac OS X about 1 1/2 years ago. It has most of the features of Vista, so I don't see what the big deal is, it is already an old operating system. Mac OS X will be replaced this spring by it's successor, Leopard, which obsoletes Vista. I don't see why everybody is so excited about get an OS that us Mac users have had for quite a while.

I use XP for my entertainment purposes and Fedora Core for my development purposes. Linux distributions are better for development purposes since there are a lot of inbuilt tools and compilers in it.
