I have a gorgeous husband and a gorgeous little boy. We have a beautiful home and we are doing good. Sometimes I still feel depressed and hopeless. It has nothing to do with them. I don't know why I get depressed, lately I've been really happy but every now and then I get depressed and don't want to do anything. What's wrong with me?

Well, sometimes its unavoidable that we feel depressed for the day..but for the health its not a good side, i believe in Meditation which will balance our mind and helps to be normal at situations

maybe your not really happy. you still feel the emptiness inspite if what you have. you are the only can answer what bothering you. Maybe you can take a break and tell your husband or go out with your family on a vacation. i think you are just bored wit your life try to experiment new things like engage into new hobbies and interest just to divert your attention. Its only the matter of thinking. If you allow such bad feeling and bad thoughts it will really make you depress. New thoughts can remake you. There is a thought " " A man's life is what his thoughts make of it". so its on the person it self. If you think positive it will result positive but if you think negative it will result negative. If you allow thoughts like your not happy that you are sad absolutely our subconscious will think of it thats what we are going to feel.

You will have to look inside yourself for that answer. Depression is very common and can be treated. But I have a few questions/comments. Did this come on recently? How old is your baby- could be the "baby blues". I'm guessing by your profile that you are in the middle of winter. There is such a thing as "winter blues" also called SAD-seasonal affective disorder. Maybe you need more sunlight. Or maybe something is missing from your life. Do you work? If not, then maybe a part time job or even volunteer work might lift your spirits. Please seek help if these feelings persist. It can be treated and remember that you are not alone. Many people get depressed from time to time. Good luck and hang in there.

Who knows? That's the thing..... Depression is a strange affliction. So much more is known about it today. I too had what others would have considered an ideal life at one time yet was miserable. After seeking unbiased advice and eventually taking medications for a while I managed to address everything and fix it. It wasn't easy but well worth it! This is not to say that you should go and take medication! I am just suggesting that you seek unbiased advice to help to change your mind processes. You will be amazed at the change in your life by doing so! I have not been on medication for over two years now, it was a short term solution that made it easier for me to focus on some areas with out being stressed out by others. I gave some advice to another myLot member last week..... Do something now before you start to believe and accept that this is how things should always be. It never hurts to get some advice. Good luck!

What do you want to accomplish in life? Do you have any goals(short/long terms)? If you do not have goals, you are just wondering around without directions. People usually get depressed because they don;t have any directions in life. Try set a short term goals for yourself and for your family(eg. 2007 goals). Once you have your goals, start taking actions. I use these categories for your 2007 goals: (1) My personal development (2) Spiritual (3)Health (4)Family (5)Finance/Investing. For example, in my Personal development area, my goals include read 22 books this year and volunteer at two local community events. etc. I wish the best for you.
