I was thinking about all of the local businesses we have in our small town. We desperately need a coffee shop around here. The only place to get one around here is McDonalds. How much would it cost to start a coffee shop? Anybody know?

I have friends who work for Starbucks in Seattle. Most of them work for the design team. Apparently they have a goal and meet a goal of opening two new stores in some location across the world, every SINGLE day! I don't know how much money it costs, but I'm sure there is info on their website on franchisee programs. Just watch out b/c they have some of the strictest regulations. If you don't follow their instructions to the most minute detail, you will loose the Starbucks affiliation. In the right place though, you'd make TONS of $$. I work in a skyscraper in Seattle, and there are 3 Starbucks IN my builing. And you want to know the crazy thing? It's still a 10 minute wait, a minimum to get a cup of coffee! Those Starbucks guys are making a killing off the 50+ floors of miserable office workers stuck inside day after rainy day.

Thanks for the info, I live in a really small town that doesn't even have anything like that. I know that one could make a killing here if they were to open one.
