Celebrity fan mail

Have you ever tried sending fan mail to a celebrity? If so, did you ever get any kind of response back like a thank you or anything for taking the time to write them? Do you feel that they appreciate the mail or just toss the mail away? I wonder if they even have time to read our mails or really want to read our mails.

This is very true that they are celebrities and they are probably always busy making movies or doing other things and probably do not even read our letters. It probably goes to their secretary or someone else. It would be nice to receive some kind of response.

That is a really good question! I was just considering if I should write to a couple of the cast members for Gilmore Girls. It seems, we do not know if this will be their last season because their contracts are up. And if it is, I am going to be sooooooo disappointed. So, I was wondering maybe I should write them. And maybe start a petition here on myLot and print it out and send it. What do you think? Ok...so maybe you do not watch Gilmore Girls. But...I thought it might be worth a try. But then I thought maybe they don't even read them. Maybe they would not get the fan mail because they get so much and they would not see all the fan mail that wants them to continue. So...I don't know if I will write or not. I just think that someone opens their mail for them and maybe sends a signed picture here or there with a generic letter. I don't know....:(

I remember a long time ago writing a celebrity but never heard anything back. I think I had written a letter to Linda Carter since I was a Wonder Woman fan but never received any kind of response back. There is no doubt that they probably get tons of fan mail and are not able to get back with everyone. Someone probably does open their mail from them. It can't hurt to try once I guess and see what happens. :-) You are right, I do not watch the Gilmore Girls. :-)

Way back in the day, remember when Steve Austin was the Bionic man? I ended up getting his and Lindsay Wagner's aka "Bionic Woman's" autograph by writing them, and asking for it. Too bad I do not still have it, huh? But back then it was a lot easier, and they actually might have had the time to read something someone sends them. But now due to Security and such, and also the time factor, am not sure that it would even really reach them without you getting like a photocopied letter or such they send everyone who writes them. But I have heard of Sports stars that actually still respond, so there might really still be some Actors or Actresses, Singers, etc. that still do this as well.

It certainly would be nice to receive something back from some of them to know how much we like them and feel about their shows and their performance. That is awesome that you received their autographs and I hear they might be making a movie on the bionic woman.

I only wrote to the "Duke" when he was in the hospital. I don't think that they receive them or read them. I think a staff does that for them. I never got a response back. Blessings, M&M

I remember writing to Linda Carter, who played Wonder Woman, but never heard anything back and I tried a couple other people when I was younger and did not get a response back either. Have a great evening.

I came close into writing one for Backstreet Boys once, but I never got around to it. Besides, I do not really think that they actually read those mails. I think they hire someone who takes care of fan mails and all they do is sign their names or something like that. I think they do appreciate it, they just don't have the time to read it all.

That is how I feel about it too that someone else reads their mails. People that are famous are too busy doing other things.

I once wrote to Randolph Mantooth who played Johnny Gage, a paramedic with squad 51 from the show Emergency. I told him in the letter that I thought his show had a great impact on me and I believed it helped me gain an interest in the medical field. I went on to become an emergency medical technician with my local ambulance service. I believe he wrote back but I suppose it could have been done by his PR people. He sent me two signed photos, one from his Emergency days and another one from the present. I was so thrilled. I still have the letter and the pictures are still up on my wall.

You know..I don't usually get involved with that stuff.but one time I think I actually wrote a letter to Oprah..We did this to see if she would respond..and of course she did not..We asked her..at a very difficult time..if she could help us aquire a computer..it is so minor compared to all the big gifts she has her pictured taken with as she hands them out..but not only did we not get any help ..we never even received an acknowledgement.. Now here in West Virginia we have a very famous Senator..Senator Byrd...he is one of the oldest Senators on board the US Senate..I wrote him several letters..and each time he responded in his own hand writing..I am not a democrat..but his taking time to respond awarded him my vote in every election that he ran in. To me that someone so high should take time to write a response to someone so low on the rung of importance as I means so much!!+

I have written letters to authors and they have written back. Now, with email, it is a lot easier and they are more likely to respond. I have a slew of autographed photographs from cast members of As The World Turns. That reminds me... the cast has changed somewhat, perhaps I should send some more emails. :)

Years ago when I was a kid ,I sent a letter to Cindy Williams from Laverne and Shirley.I did receive an autographed photo but don't know if it was she that actually signed it.I don't really follow modern actors and singers, but there are those that do and I don't think it would hurt to take the time to answer a few letters. The fans are the ones that put them up there and I think they should realize that

That is nice that you received an autographed photo back. I used to watch that show as well and enjoyed it. Maybe I will try again and see what happens.
