Artists are no different from other human beings so yes they can go into politics if they know what they are talking about. And do you mean specific artists like rock musicians or filmstars because a lot of writers are already politically involved.

Media is the popular medium to confuse the general public. What the stars do in movies, they think they are genuine and would solve the problems of the country. I don't think they should come forward to encash their popularity by becoming leaders of our country, as its a different field.

i m in complete favour of this. this is their life then who r we to take the decisions of their life. it depends upon them how to earn their living and how to make their name more popular among the masses. so there is no problem in leading life which moves on to politics after acting. by this way they can remain in limelight too as they are conditioned to do so. they can do a good deal as the persons keep an eye over them as they are novice in this field. so they can work for the benefit of the society.

Only if they are really equipped with the knowledge, if their intentions are really for the good interest of the public, and that they are really capable of handling the responsibilities of the position they are running for. If all are present, then i wouldnt mind if they are artists or from whatever career or field they are from. On the other hand, if the artists just want to use their popularity to run in politics, then i suggest they just forget about it. Cant help but say that many artists nowadays seem to follow the "bandwagon" and enter politics without even the slightest knowledge of how the political system works. Also for the people who vote for them, please make sure that you choose them wisely and not just because they are good artists or popular that you vote for them. Please, dont make the election a popularity contest.

I think anybody should be able to start a career in politics if they have a decent understanding of how the political system works, how the law works, and they have specific views and ideas on how they want to improve the country. I really dont think it makes any difference what their previous career was.
