What does your baby or your birth mark resemble ? where you born with it ? my daughters did not appear untill about two weeks after she was born.. is that common ? i assumed a baby was going to have a birthmark they would be born with them. Do they ever go away ? i dont have one neither does my husband.

I have two. One on the back of my left thigh and one my the front of my right shin. None of my kids have birth marks. I thought it was strange for them not to have one.

Most birth marks are "cafe au lait" stains..they aren't any sign of other troubles and usually people get between 1-3 of them. If any more come up, it is usually a good idea to have the doctor run some tests, but only with 4+. It is not known why people get birth marks at all. I myself have one on my thigh and one on my lower back. Both are very small and nothing to worry about. :) My cutie tutti will just have one like me :)

My son just has a small one on his left wrist. It's very noticeable or anything. I don't think they ever go away. I'm not sure if all babies have them or not. My husband did, but his mom had it removed on the count of something was wrong with it. So far my son's isn't bothering him.

I have a large somewhat round birthmark on my left calf, and I'm 32 yrs old. (SO, I would have to assume they never go away). My daughter does not have a birthmark, but my son has two of them. They're almost identically shaped- one on his stomach, and one on his neck. My husband has none.
