Can I use dog flea products on cats?

I would not do it because I think they are formulated too strong for a cat.

I don't know if it's recommended to do that or not, however I have done it on occasion. I bought a brand name flea product for my dog who is huge, and some cheaper over the counter stuff for my cat, who is not so big. The cheaper stuff did not work so I tried to calculate as best I could the difference and used the dog's stuff on the cat. It worked. But as I've said, I don't know if it's something veterinarians would recommend.
