Do you think customer service has gotten better or worse over the years?

Better, there is more training in dealing with the public.

I believe customer service has gotten worse. Worst when it comes to calling customer service and it's someone who doesn't speak fluent english (no offense to anyone) But, alot of companies are outsourcing work overseas so most the time depending on the company, you are speaking to someone you can hardly understand. The voice activated features are nice, but you have to push so many buttons JUST to get to a live person. By the time you get to talk to a live person, you are more frustrated than before you called...just my opinion...

i understand how you feel. first when they call customer service you would have to go through numerous voice prompts when you are actually wanting to talk to a live person. i personally believe that if companies can change the IVRs customer service would be better. half of the time its what gets customer frustrated - pushing buttons and hearing the crappy recordings. the worst part of it is after so many incorrect tries they transfer you to a live person, so why not transfer you to a live person at the onset of the call. i really understand your point about outsourcing and i feel that you have nothing against outsourcing but i feel that companies should outsource to countries where english is a second language and not just an acquired tongue.

Better, You got to talk with people who are especially trained to handle problems concerning the products that they are handling.
