Name That Fear

Almost all of us (if not all of us) are afraid of something. Weither it is snakes, or curtains. Who knows?! Anything is possible. I am scared of mice, snakes, spiders, and somewhat scared of heights. I also have a couple stories to go with that. I told one of my mice stories in a comment, so I'm going to tell a different one here. It wasn't that long ago, and for some reason we had a mouse that wouldn't leave. No matter what we put out to get rid of it, the darn thing survived. I was getting ready to throw something in the trash when the darn mouse ran by me. In a flash I managed to jump and stand on my chair freaking out until it was gone. I even left my daughter in the middle of the living room not knowing what the heck was wrong with mommy. I think I stayed in the chair, feet up, for atleast a half hour. This one is about a snake. It was a long time ago. Knowing my extreme fear of snakes, you wouldn't imagine my surprise when (after I'd just got mowing the lawn) I found the headless body of a grass snake in the front yard. It was kind of creepy, but it was creepier to think about the fact that I might have stepped on it. That was the worst feeling I'd ever felt. Luckily I don't have any real spider or heights stories. I hope I won't have any at any time either. Now it's your turn. Do you have a fear? Does it have a story behind it/to go with it? I want to hear it!

I have a fear of mice. Doesn't matter how big or small, they creep me out. When my kids were little one of the boys were in the kitchen with me when he jumped on a chair and started screaming that a cat just ran under the refrigerator. Now we didn't have a cat. Could that cat have been a mouse and was that mouse that large? I joined him in the chair for at least 20 minutes.

LOL, I would do the same thing! I think my daughter is too young for any real fears... but she does have one. She's afraid of fuzz. If she gets a bit of fuzz between her toes, or on her foot, she'll hold that foot in the air, crying, until I get it off. If she finds any fuzz on a toy or something [like if she stuffed a toy under her bed for a month, then found it, and it grew dust], she'll hold it as far away from herself as possible and tell me it's "yucky". She's okay again once it's washed/wiped off.

You know what, that is the one fear of mine I forgot to put down when I started this post! I don't know how I managed to forget it. I've been scared of the dark since I was little. It's gotten better (I'm not as scared as you are), but the fear is still there. Thanks for your comment!

As funny as it sounds, I'm actually afraid of Frogs, LOL!! I think it's because when I was younger I was walking down the road with a friend and went to stand on what I thought was a leaf when it jumped up in my face and it turned out it was a frog. It was horrible and I just can't bear them.

The fear of frogs isn't all that crazy. I can see why you would be. I, personally, think they're cute looking - but I wouldn't want to touch one. I can look at them all I want, even up close. When it comes to touching one, it creeps me out a little.
