How long can you draw it? My dad got bucked off a horse and broke his hip the first surgery didn't go well, And so he just had another one a year later to fix it. He was wondering if he will still continue to draw it after he is off doctor's care. he is 67 years of age and the doctor told him he could not return to the work he was doing . does that mean he draws workmans comp fo life?

This is tricky. It differs with each state but he might get a check once or twice a year for the rest of his life. My Aunt was working for UPS and she gets paid from them. I don't know how, the amount or how often. I don't ask questions like that. This might be called permanent disability. He might be stuck with just social security. Look in the phone book under Attorneys and find one that covers disability and has FREE CONSULTATION. That way you can talk to several for free.

Workmans Compensation is for injuries sustained while on the job. Was your father on the job when he was thrown from this horse?
