Whiten Your Teeth At Home

It is very expensive to have your teeth whitened at the dentist and the strips and pastes you buy from the chemist can cost $30-$40. Here is a cheap and easy way to do it yourself at home: Mix together a small amount of bicarbonate of soda and salt in a saucer. Add a few drops of peroxide to make a fairly thick paste. Spread the paste on your teeth using your toothbrush and gently clean for a few minutes. Rinse out your mouth. Repeat twice daily. In no time you will have nice white teeth for a cost of around $7.

Does the peroxide do any damage to your teeth? I want to find a method to whiten mine without doing any damage to them, and tips appreciated.

Yes I know this recipe Kathy and while it does the trick, it also is not the most pleasant tasting, however for the savings you make it is well worth it. I don't use this all the time, because I cannot stand the taste and also I use water instead of the peroxide. So with my little mix, I clean my teeth this way several times a week, and although they aren't perfectly white, they are still better than just using ordinary toothpaste or worse still, getting the stuff from the Chemist. Incidentally a very special friend of mine is a smoker, drinks strong black coffee and has always cleaned her teeth with bicarbonate of soda directly onto her toothbrush. She has brilliantly white teeth.

Thanks for the tip. I smoke, and drink coffee, both of which leave my teeth pretty stained. I love using home remedies, and really appreciate you taking the time to share this information.
